About Recumbent Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out.

The term recumbent literally means "lying down." Exercising in a recumbent or reclining position allows the user to have full ergonomic back support, without causing strain on the arms, neck and shoulders, all of which can be common effects of using an upright bicycle. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

Great home recumbent bike

Reviewer: K. Watts,
This bike was easy to assemble, not much to put together and took me only 1 and a half hours. It works as well as the more expensive one at the employee gym where I work. My husband is using it,giving up the treadmill and loves it. It is good to tone your body and for a great cardio workout. I highly recommend this bike.It is not a boring piece of exercise equipment.
A well made piece of equipment

I was concerned before I bought this that the arm cycle would not offer resistance. One other reviewer had mentioned that. You do get adjustable resistance but only when using it alone and not pedaling the bike at the same time. I wish the arm cycle offered more resistance than it does but after several minutes of use you can feel it working and you can raise your heart rate quite easily. This unit would be great for someone with bad knees who has trouble using a treadmill. This is the only decent arm cycle I found and with my knee problems I use that feature much more than the bicycle. The recumbent seat is very comfortable and easy to adjust front and back. I am 6'3" and have no problems with the seat adjustment. There are the side handles you can hold onto while using the bike. There is no cup holder as some have mentioned. Easy assembly and the funky tools they give you do work but if you had a 13mm & 15mm socket and ratchet it speeds up assembly time considerably. Look for a deal that offers free shipping because without that, it is $70.00 to ship, ouch!

My daughter uses just the foot pedals of this bike. Being handicapped, I use just the hand pedals of the bike. It works well for boith of us. It operates smoothly and quietly and gives a good workout used either way. I am satisfied with my purchase... it seems like a good, quality product.
How to have fun while exercising

Assembly is required and I did it by myself. I find I enjoy exercising and getting a good work out with this piece of equipment. It doesn't take up much space and is super quiet. My knees hurt when I used my treadmill and they feel great when using the bike.
Fantastic Bike

There was assembly required but the directions were laid out well and easy to follow. The bike is very quiet. It has a lot of room for adjustment which was important as I am not tall. The seat can be adjusted in seconds for another user of a different height. I love the bike and it doesn't take up much room at all. I would definetly recommend it, especially with the arm attachment which was hard to find.
